Development and certification of small fuses

Due to the continuous development of the electronics industry, especially the development of microelectronics and digital electronics, many new topics have been proposed for circuit protection, such as electrostatic protection, lightning protection, electromagnetic interference protection, etc. The development of small fuses also requires more miniaturization. Surface mount, lead-free, multi-function or multi-circuit integration, etc...

Many fuse manufacturers have stepped out of the field of pure overcurrent protection components, and at the same time stepped into other types of circuit protection components or devices to gradually form a complete set of protection scheme design and product development. This development will lead to both overcurrent protection components. New products such as voltage protection components and circuit protection modules are launched.

Some fuse manufacturers are preparing to develop circuit protection components or circuit protection modules with intelligent functions, thereby creating a of replacement of small fuses.

Certification of small fuses:

As a safety case, small fuses must pass the safety certification (safety certification) of an authoritative organization during production, sales and use. Due to the two main specification systems (North America and Europe) for the development of small fuses, its safety certification is also divided into two major systems, the US standard and the European standard. U.S. certification is mainly based on American UL and Canadian CSA. Products that pass UL and CSA standards can be listed. Manufacturers who have passed the tests and confirmed by UL and CSA with self-supplied standards can also be recognized by UL and CSA. Both of these certifications have been widely recognized by North American countries and the world.
European certification takes the international IEC standard as the basic requirement, and the European industrial countries can obtain the certification of the country by using their own national standards. The main ones are VDE (Germany), SEMKO (Switzerland), BSI (English), FEMKO (Finland). ..... You can also obtain certifications from other countries through CB test reports. China's standards are in line with the IEC system, so CCC certification also belongs to the European regulatory system, and CB certificates can also be used to convert other certifications.

1. The main application areas of small fuses
 △In various electrical appliances such as instrumentation, industrial control, test and measurement, and motors;
 △In all kinds of household appliances, audio-visual equipment, kitchen appliances, small household appliances;
 △In residential power supply systems, distribution boards, plug switches, and wiring devices:
 △PC, notebook, various computer peripherals or peripheral equipment and accessories;
 △In electronic communications, switches, terminals, base stations, and related products;
 △Network equipment, access distribution and network peripheral equipment or accessories;
 △In transportation facilities, vehicles, various vehicles and ships, and in-vehicle electronic and electrical equipment;
 △The financial system includes bank securities equipment, deposit and withdrawal and credit card devices, etc.;
 △Business systems include calculators, cash registers and other equipment for various service industries;
 △Entertainment facilities and accessories such as electronic games and electronic toys;
 △Various types of power supplies, converters, chargers, etc.;
 △Medical equipment, military equipment, and various high-tech equipment;

2. Various products for overcurrent protection
 △Small fuses are widely used in various electronic and electrical products, and they are the most commonly used overcurrent protection originals;
 △Since the thermistor products such as PPTC and CPTC came out, a considerable part of the circuit’s over-current protection has been replaced with recoverable and reusable PTC components, but due to its slow response and electrical
Can not be used in many places such as large resistance;
 △Some designers choose some resistors and insurance resistors with protection function for overcurrent protection for applications where protection requirements are not high;
 △Some temperature fuses also have the function of overcurrent protection, which are used to protect both overtemperature and overcurrent. But the performance of its overcurrent protection will be slightly worse;
 △In some circuits with larger current capacity, circuit breakers are also used for overcurrent protection;
 △Some IC devices with complete functions are designed to have some protection functions for themselves. The IC protection of these circuits no longer uses fuses;
 △The development of new circuit protection components such as the Safety Control Protector (SCP) designed by Sony may change the application and development of small fuses;
 △In order to reduce costs in some low-end products, any protection components are omitted;
